DNP – Coach’s Decision: $83 million in salaries have a night on NBA benches
February 1, 2007 by William K. Wolfrum
Have you ever gone to work and just wished you could take it easy? While getting obscenely paid? Welcome to the world of the NBA reserve.
Well, in 13 NBA games last night, 47 players did just that, not getting into the game due to the coach’s decision. And, led by Raef LaFrentz’s $11 million, the nearly four dozen players have an annual salary of more than $83 million.
This doesn’t include injured or suspended players. All of the fabulous 47 were dressed and ready to play, just unneeded by their team. They were well paid to get the best seats in the house, occasionally stand up and cheer, and spend quality time scanning the stands for babes.
So, how’s your job going?
