Oklahoma drivers dedicate $37 and their license plates to ‘War on Terror’
Want to show you’re a true patriot that despises IslamoDahmerfacists? Don’t want to do much about it but maybe spend $37 and dedicate your license plate to a political slogan? Well, Oklahoma is the state for you.
For Sooners looking to show their terror-fighting pride while tearing up the asphalt, the Oklahoma Tax Commission has extended the deadline to order the global war on terrorism license plate (aka GWOT) pictured here.
Officials had set a May 31 deadline for the $37 vanity plate (just one of 145 specialty plates the state offers), but the order form is still up, and that’s attracted eyeballs from Reddit, Digg and Wired.
A portion of the $37 will go to the 45th Infantry Division Museum which must be adding a “Kill the Jihadists” wing, or something. Maybe it’s time Oklahoma starts looking into changing its state motto. Things obviously aren’t “OK” there.
