Rudy Giuliani as much part of the New York Yankees as Alex Rodriguez

August 21, 2007 by William K. Wolfrum

Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani, who has said that he had spent as much time at Ground Zero as workers there that suffered from illness due to the cleanup effort, is now apparently a member of the New York Yankees, due to the same reasoning.

Giuliani, who spent 29 hours at Ground Zero, mostly with celebrities or other politicians, spent 58 hours at, or traveling to Yankees Stadium over the same stretch of time in 2001. Thus, by Giuliani’s earlier logic, he has as much understanding of hitting home runs or suffering a groin injury as players like Alex Rodriguez or Derek Jeter.

Yankees manager Joe Torre has not announced how he plans to use Giuliani during the team’s stretch run.
