Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi marry – no punctuation necessary

While the women of Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia have taken the “Mayor: We Want Ugly Women” story into their own hands as Mount Isa Mayor John Molony works on his “To hell with women voters” master plan, another headline on CNN.com’s front page shows off CNN’s willingness to editorialize with punctuation.

Ellen Degeneres and Portia de Rossi were married this weekend. Rossi was actively involved, and same-sex marriages are legal in California. They were married just like anyone else. No punctuation necessary.
