One-Night Stand: John McCain offers up some personality
October 17, 2008 by William K. Wolfrum
Remember when Bob Dole lost horrifically to Bill Clinton and then went on a nation-wide comedy tour that had everyone wondering what would have happened if he had shown that type of personality during the campaign? Well, John McCain offered up some of the personality that made him the media’s darling.
From yesterday’s Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner, here’s McCain:
And Barack Obama:
Both McCain and Obama were funny and personable, and McCain was – for really the first time I’ve seen – able to look at and speak to Obama without obvious disdain. Part of what has helped Obama slowly pull away from McCain in most polls is that he’s been personable and often funny over the epic two-year Presidential campaign, while McCain has come off the last couple months as angry. We’ll see if McCain catches on to the fact that the only shot at a comeback (and don’t fool yourself, he could still win this thing) is to lighten up and call a truce in his war on the national media.

Out of character for McCain, which is just more evidence of the erratic.
erratic, erratic, erratic.
