Fox & Friends gets its hate on
February 20, 2009 by William K. Wolfrum
The worst thing about having Fox News on my cable here is that I can’t seem to not watch it. Which leads to moments of despair, like this morning watching Fox & Friends. The chirpy propagandists went into a full five-minute hate.
First in an all-out name-calling festival against recent mother of octoplets Nadya Suleman, who they refused to call by name. It was brutal. After that, it was two minutes of hate against government programs that would give parents money for taking their children to the doctors and making sure they stay in school. Or giving kids money if they graduate from high school without getting or getting anyone pregnant. In Georgia. Brian Kilmeade went off on the programs, and just called everyone who’d need such money lazy. There was absolutely no connect at all in his mind that there might be poor people in the U.S. Even Gretchen Carlson seemed to finally notice they were flying off the edge and pulled back, but Kilmeade wasn’t having any of it.
When the TV hosts are this hateful, you can only imagine how hateful their followers must be.

I remember watching Brian Kilmeade interview Janeane Garofalo shortly after the Iraq war started in 2003. She said we should be more prudent with our military choices, and he ripped into her. So she gave it back to him and more. And then he said something to the effect of “I’ll bet Osama Bin Laden is watching this and smiling.” At which point she told him to grow up and stop using Bin Laden as some sort of political boogeyman, who loves it when liberals try to stop the war because they’re being unpatriotic.
I predict Brian Kilmeade will be the next Geraldo Rivera. I just hope he can grow an awesome moustache like Geraldo.
Bill: As I’m sure you’re aware, Shakesville has had a couple of insightful posts about the dehumanization of Ms. Suleman & her kids (OctoMom & OctoBabies, to name a couple).
I’m just surprised that I’ve yet to hear anyone blaming her for the economic collapse (see: “queens, welfare” and “Reagan, Ronald”) — though I guess it’s already been concluded that ACORN & all those rotten brown people who thought they somehow deserved to live in houses are to blame for that one.
As I believe our beloved enormous savior once said, “Whatsoever you do to the least of my brethren, make sure that you let ‘em know that they deserve it for being such lazy, welfare-wantin’, socialist ne’er-do-wells.”
After observing Brian Kilmeade, I have come to the conclusion that he is an alien from another planet! In order to pay those three their salaries, 50 % of Fox and Friends are commercials. I have grown tired of the three minute segment followed by six commercials. Goodbye Fox and Friends.
