AIG: Bad news – $62 billion loss; Good News – Manchester United wins Carling Cup

It was a tough weekend for the talent at AIG, as the insurance giant posted a $62 billion quarterly loss. But while such losses may seem terrible from an individual standpoint, AIG does have the advantage of having the U.S. government ready to fork over as many billions as they can lose.

But while AIG executives are busily checking under coach cushions to see if someone had a few billion slip out of their pocket, at the very least, Manchester United, the soccer team they sponsor, won its first trophy of the year.

So, in case you were wondering where the $62 billion went, just know that winning the Carling Cup takes money.

    Uhm, I’m all about some helping people, but I have a rule that if you ask me for billions of dollars I will ask you to STFU.
