No, you aren’t a Libertarian

There’s been a lot of ruckus from the far-right of late about how they’re actually Libertarians now. For them, here’s a very quick and easy method to test their Libertarian cred:
1. Do you think Gays and Lesbians should be allowed to marry?
2. Do you think Gays and Lesbians should be allowed to adopt children?
If you answered “no” to either of these questions, you aren’t a Libertarian. You’re just some prick that doesn’t want to pay taxes.

It would be amusing if not so pathetic and sad, as to how many former Bush supporters have run to hide behind the libertarian banner in light of the embarrassing and dismal Bush years.
I must say, however, I rather enjoy calling them out when they are espousing libertarian ideas as a criticism on Obama by saying things like, “Hey, didn’t you vote for and defend Bush’s policies all those years as he resided over one of the largest expansions of Government in US history.” And their feeble attempts at defense are precious. I almost feel sorry for them.
indeed dgun that’s a good point isn’t it? That so many conservatives call themselves “libertarians” when they’ve been rooting for GW after all of those bailouts, spending, war, domesting spying, torture and other horrible things we probably don’t know about yet that his administration supported…
