The left and right speak out on the murder of Dr. George Tiller
June 1, 2009 by William K. Wolfrum
The murder of Dr. George Tiller by an anti-abortion terrorist has been a major topic on political blogs starting this week. A quick scan of the two sides of American politics shows that blogs* both left and right have condemned the murder, with varying degrees of outrage.
From the left:
Antonia Zerbisias: The American Taliban. Firedoglake: They are terrorists. Crooks & Liars: Bill O’Reilly has Dr. George Tiller’s blood on his well-stained hands. The Huffington Post: The Murder of Dr. Tiller, a Foreshadowing
From the Right:
National Review: Gravely Wicked. Hot Air: The murder of George Tiller at his church is a heinous crime, without any sense or justice. Hugh Hewitt: A cold-blooded murder. Red State: Kansas Abortionist Shot, Killed at Church
*Note that I am only linking to the actual blogs, not pointing out comment sections. Though Little Green Footballs did call out hateful comments that right-wing blogs and media outlets allowed to stand here.

Very interesting how quickly those who are so quick to denounce the labeling of terrorists as “terrorists” are so quick to call a murderer a terrorist and associate a dogma he may or may not support so directly with that same label.
And then see how very strongly the right-side blogs call the murderer of Dr. Tiller “Wicked”, “heinous”, “cold-blooded”.
I would indeed agree these are very different degrees of outrage.

I’d be very interested if you could back that up with any links from the bloggers I linked to. Because a it stands, that comment was just a red herring, and a false one at that.
