One-Liner: Elections matter
June 11, 2009 by William K. Wolfrum
The Iranian presidential election between Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Mir Hossein Mousavi is one of the biggest international stories going, but with Carrie Prejean, David Letterman and Sarah Palin in the news, many in the U.S. may not even be aware. One thing the election will surely give us? A better time line for when Israel will launch its strike.

[Okay, so where the f*ck (asterisk there just in case Wordpress has a hissy-fit...uh-oh, I said hissy-fit)...anyway, here I am, freshly-landed from Kona's place. Where is the Gripe Thread, sir?]
On-topic, this election is interesting indeed: I am watching live shots of all the rallies and protests–against Ahmadinejad–and marveling at how a serious changing of the guards is taking place under our noses.
Agreed – I miss seeing your posts at SV, William. Demand gripe-thread now.
Likewise – litbrit, your commentary is much missed. Will check out your blog now that I know where it is.
I keep it simple. All comment threads here are gripe threads
You would think that one of the AoE powers actually having elections would be news enough for most of the outlets, never mind that (Shrub fave badguy) Ahmadinejad is in the fight of his life.
There are times when I lose hope of US achieving any awareness of events beyond the borders.
