One-Liner: Alaska’s cool again
July 27, 2009
Suddenly, I feel much better telling people long, boring stories about my days in Alaska.

What are you looking at?
July 24, 2009
You looking at me? Or not? If not, sorry for the accusatory tone.

One-Liner: Need some Juice
July 23, 2009
During these hard times, this country needs an O.J. scandal more than ever. Maybe he can break out.

One-Liner: Death becomes them
July 20, 2009
Seeing right-wing killers in real-life action hasn’t stopped the right-wing from using murder as a political act. A couple days ago, it was Pat Buchanan suggesting that Todd Palin should kill Levi Johnston. And now we have Ralph Peters advising the Taliban to execute their kidnapped American soldier. Perhaps someone in the more moderate section of conservatism should consider trying to shut that down? Because it’s really getting creepy. This shit has got to end.

One-Liner: How to tell Michael Jackson coverage has ebbed
July 20, 2009
Just saw a story from MSNBC with the headline: “What we didn’t know about the moonwalk” And it was about Micheal Jackson. I suppose Jackson coverage will now be limited to the outside parameters of the media, for Greta Van Susteren and the like.

One-Liner: A great loss to humankind
July 7, 2009
Today, the world comes together to mourn the loss of Michael Jackson. Also, a few mourn the loss of the word “perspective” from the English language.
One-Liner: Sarah Palin
July 3, 2009
First it’s Billy Mays, now Sarah Palin. It seems like we’re losing a lot of TV-friendly folks who like to peddle crap.

One-Liner: The quiet good bye
June 30, 2009
For all the column inches and TV time given to promoting the need to attack Iraq, the beginning of the (sort of) pull out of U.S. troops from Iraq has been met with the resounding sound of crickets from the U.S. media.

One-Liner: Critical thinking on Iran
June 21, 2009
Is it conspiratorial or skeptical to wonder how Iran protesters had protest signs in English so quickly? Between that and Twitter, it’s like they’ve done a whole version of the conflict with subtitles.

One-Liner: A new strategy for Iran
June 12, 2009
After years of “Ahmadinejad is a madman dictator that wants to destroy Israel!” today, the right will move to “You know, the Ayatollahs run everything there anyway. And they want to wipe Israel off the map, too.”

One-Liner: Tortured attention span
June 12, 2009
That national debate on torture ran out of steam pretty quickly, didn’t it?

One-Liner: Elections matter
June 11, 2009
The Iranian presidential election between Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Mir Hossein Mousavi is one of the biggest international stories going, but with Carrie Prejean, David Letterman and Sarah Palin in the news, many in the U.S. may not even be aware. One thing the election will surely give us? A better time line for when Israel will launch its strike.

One-Liner: Let Extremism ring
June 10, 2009
On Jan. 21, the United States was a progressive, forward-thinking nation. Now it seems the next four years could be dominated by backward-thinking extremists.

One-Liner: Obama’s rivals
June 4, 2009
Why is it that whenever Barack Obama speaks these days, a “rival” steps up to give a rebuttal designed to terrify American citizens? First Dick Cheney, and now Osama bin Laden. Can’t we go back to letting Bobby Jindal give rebuttals to Obama?

One-Liner: Paging Liz Jong-Il
May 28, 2009
People always talk badly about North Korea. But I withhold judgment until I hear the opinions of Kim Jong-Il’s daughter.
